National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, has issued a public apology following widespread criticism over a recent personal gesture that sparked controversy on social media.
The CEO of the Goldbod has been seen a a video that has gone viral counting a foreign currency which happens to be the United States Dollar in his car and handed over to controversial Nana Agradaa now Evangelist or Mama Pat. She layer confirmed in a separate video that amount to be $10,000.
In a statement released on Sunday May 11th, 2025, Sammy Gyamfi acknowledged the backlash, stating that his actions were intended as a private act of kindness but regrettably became public.
“I sincerely thought that I was doing this act of kindness in private and never imagined that same could find its way into the public space. That is unfortunate and regrettable,” he said.
The incident has drawn sharp criticism, particularly from some NDC supporters who expressed disappointment. Gyamfi extended an apology to aggrieved comrades, saying, “I AM SINCERELY SORRY for this unfortunate act of indiscretion. I respect and appreciate your views.”
Despite the controversy, he reaffirmed his commitment to public service, emphasizing that his role remains dedicated to national development under President John Mahama’s administration.
Several supporters have rallied behind him, offering counsel and solidarity. Gyamfi expressed gratitude to them while wishing the public a blissful Sunday and extending Mother’s Day greetings.

Folks, I have taken notice of the wave of criticisms against my person in the last 24 hours.
To clarify, this was simply a kind gesture to a fellow human being, in line with my daily and life-long custom of lending a helping hand to people in need.
I sincerely thought that I was doing this act of kindness in private, and never imagined that same could find its way into the public space. That is unfortunate and regrettable.
I must say that, I understand the uproar that this gesture has generated, particularly from comrades who are sincerely hurt by same. To all such comrades, I AM SINCERELY SORRY for this unfortunate act of indiscretion. I respect and appreciate your views.
My profound appreciation goes to all those who have reached out to counsel and encourage me. I’m most grateful for your solidarity.
Let me state however, that my view of public office as a privilege to serve society, solve problems and help others, has not changed.
I remain focused on the task entrusted to me by His Excellency, the President for the development of our country.
